SUNDAY SCHOOL PROGRAM GUIDELINES
The St. John The Beloved Sunday School program is a structured learning program which reinforces the skills the child is learning in school (e.g., colors, numbers, senses, motor skills) while learning about God, creation, self and the wonder of life.
We presently have three levels. They are the 3, 4 and 5 year old programs. Classes run from 9:30-10:30 a.m. beginning in late September through March.
Regular attendance is mandatory in order to insure communication of lesson objectives. Each week, the child will bring home a letter explaining what has taken place during the class that day. One of our main goals is to further parent/child interaction, so we strongly
encourage you to become involved with extending the lesson into your family's daily life.
Incorporated into the Sunday School program are two structured activities -- music and arts and crafts. These additional activities enhance the program while giving the children the opportunity to express themselves in creativity.
Report cards are issued twice during the year. This is a not a graded report card, but a progress report on the child's understanding of the materials being presented, behavior and effort in class. These reports have proven to be beneficial in determining student readiness and providing direction to the parents.
