Meet Our RCIA Candidates….Pablo Nogueras
I was born in Granada, Spain in 1962. My Father is from Puerto Rico and my Mother is from Spain. I have 3 brothers and one sister. I married the love of my life, Ileana, in September 1999. We have three children. I graduated from Southern Methodist University (SMU), in Dallas, in Electrical Engineering in1985. Currently I am employed as SAS Infrastructure Director for Barclays. Also, my wife and I own a Mobile Grooming business, “Lather Up Pups”. We show German Shepherd Dogs (GSD) and Ileana is an American Kennel Club GSD Judge. We enjoy travelling and love to cook at home.
I was baptized into the Roman Catholic Church in Spain. I attended Mass on and off (mostly off) for the next 40 years. I believed I had faith, hope, and a belief in God, but something was missing in my life. I wanted to do more for my marriage, family, vocation, and especially my spiritual life. Sometimes one was lost and must be found. That was me.
RCIA has “enlightened” me on Church history, faith, Sacraments, and “protocol”. I feel I have a stronger spiritual foundation on which to build. Mass has become less about attending and more about being the in the presence of God and all the Holy ones in the church. It’s “special” to share Mass with my family. RCIA has helped me understand the meaning of Mass and the Sacraments which are gifts to each of us. Each part of the Mass has new meaning to me.
