Confirmation is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds.
The Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated each year by the Bishop of Wilmington. The Confirmation preparation program is held for students in the ninth grade and under the age of 18. Please go to the following link for more information: Confirmation Preparation.
The Bishop confirms adults every year at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Wilmington on Pentecost Sunday. Classes are held each year for adults over 18 who have not been confirmed. To register, call 999-0211.
