The St. John The Beloved Sunday School program is a structured learning program which reinforces the skills the child is learning in school (e.g., colors, numbers, senses, motor skills) while learning about God, creation, self and the wonder of life.
For the 2016-17 academic year, there will be several class options. They are 4 and 5 year old programs and 1st and 2nd grades. Classes run from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. beginning in September and conclude prior to
Regular attendance is mandatory in order to insure communication of lesson objectives. Each week, the child will bring home a letter explaining what has taken place during the class that day. One of our main goals is to further parent/child interaction, so we strongly encourage you to become involved with extending the lesson into your family's daily life.
Incorporated into the Sunday School program are two structured activities -- music and arts and crafts. These additional activities enhance the program while giving the childen the opportunity to express themselves in creativity. As well, the students will read and learn abou the Gospel proclaimed in Church for that Sunday. This liturgically based program will enhance the students' learning and understanding about what their families are hearing and learning about in Church.
